Holland Holton (1888-1947) served as an educator and administrator at Duke University from 1921 to 1947. He was born in Dobson, N.C. in May 1888. He earned an A.B. from Trinity College in 1907 and a law degree from Trinity College Law School in 1915. After working as superintendent of Durham County Schools, Holton became a Professor of History and Science Education at Trinity College in 1921.
